PROGRAMA: WASHINGTON IRVING

This route follows the steps of the American romantic writer and diplomat Washington Irving, who came to Spain in 1829, fascinated by the richness and the exoticism of the Hispano-Islamic civilization. A communications artery established many centuries before, which, in the late Middle Ages, served as a trade route between the Christian south of the peninsula and the Nasrid kingdom in Granada.

This program was specially designed for those who desire to deeply know about the South of Spain’s culture, for those who have already visited our land and are driven to learn more about it. During, at least, 3 days, you will discover Granada, Ecija and Seville, three gems of the Arabic caliphate.

In Granada you will live the more Arabic aspects of Andalusia, which will become increasingly thinner as you will reach the occidental extremity of the region.
